Giles Hazan

Giles trained at University College London Medical School before then gaining a wide base of training in both surgical and medical specialties as well as developing an interest in expedition medicine. He subsequently worked as a GP for several years before furthering his training in musculoskeletal medicine.

He has an interest in medical education and having attained a PG Cert in Medical Education and Leadership works supporting training of post-graduate and under-graduate clinicians in musculoskeletal medicine. He was the Vice-President of the British institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine and is involved in a number of national projects working to improve the quality of care for patients with musculoskeletal problems.

He uses a combination of techniques to provide a holistic assessment of the patient based on their needs and has training in injection techniques and their role, where appropriate, in managing spinal and other joint and soft tissue disorders.

He has experience in managing conditions that include:

During his time training at UCL he undertook an intercalated degree in Psychology and now specialises in the broad management of chronic pain with an emphasis on identifying barriers to recovery and considering techniques to move beyond these to achieve a better quality of life.

He currently divides his time between Brighton, where he works for the Sussex MSK Partnership as a musculoskeletal clinician assessing patients with complex spinal problems and chronic pain, and Milton Keynes at The Blackberry Clinic.
